Greystar Real Estate Partners, a specialist in the investment, development, and management of high-quality rental housing, has closed on the acquisition of Student Roost, the UK’s third largest purpose-built student accommodation provider, from one of Brookfield’s real estate private funds through a joint venture partnership with GIC, a global institutional investor.

Hipgnosis Song Management, an investment entity backed by Blackstone, is closing in on a deal to acquire Canadian pop star Justin Bieber’s music rights for $200 million, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.
BMS Group, a high growth independent speciality insurance and reinsurance broker, has secured an additional investment from Eurazeo in a deal that values the business at £1.75 billion. Existing shareholders British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI), Preservation Capital Partners (PCP), management and staff will continue to be invested in the business. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals. BMS’ management team, led by chief executive officer Nick Cook, will all remain in their roles following completion of the transaction, and management and staff of BMS will remain significant shareholders in the company. Inflexion is to make a minority investment in YER via its dedicated minority investment fund, Partnership Capital II, acquiring a 25% stake in a deal that values the business at €500 million. The investment is Inflexion’s second in the Netherlands in the last 12 months following its investment into e-bike component manufacturer enviolo in March 2022.  Founded in 1987, YER focuses on talent in undersupplied fields such as engineering, IT, public sector, and finance to a range of specialist end market verticals. Private investment firms Bain Capital and MV Credit have agreed a deal to recapitalise Spanish bridal firm Pronovias, acquiring a controlling interest in the business in the process from majority shareholder BC Partners. Financial terms of the transaction have not been revealed. Founded by Alberto Palatchi in 1922, BC Partners acquired Pronovias in 2017, outbidding the KKR, Permira and Carlyle to acquire a 90% stake in the business in a €532 million deal. Private investment firm EQT’s EQT Infrastructure VI fund is to acquire Madison Energy Investments (MEI) from affiliates of Stonepeak Partners LP. With the acquisition of MEI, EQT Infrastructure VI will be 0-5 per cent invested based on its target fund size of €20 billion.
