David Castellani, formerly operating principal at Brewer Lane Ventures, has also been promoted to operating partner. G2 Venture Partners, a venture capital firm focused on emerging technologies driving sustainable transformation across traditional industries, has promoted Jake Tauscher to partner. Tauscher first worked with the G2 team in 2019 as an intern, then joined full-time as an Investor in 2020. European buyout house BC Partners is said to be closing in on a deal to acquire Italian paper manufacturer Fedrigoni at a €3 billion valuation from Bain Capital, with BC Partners set to reinvest in the company through its latest fund, according to report by Reuters. Multistratgey asset manager Ardian’s latest secondary fund has attracted capital commitments of around $10 billion so far, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal. The report cites unnamed sources as confirming that the fund, Ardian Secondaries Fund IX, which will focus on acquiring secondhand stakes in private equity funds, is planning to hold a first close in early October of this year and has a target size of $15 billion. The Pennsylvania State Employees’ Retirement System (PennSERS) has made an additional commitment of up to $125 million to two private equity funds managed by Sentinel Capital Partners, according to a report by Pension & Investments. The report cites an email from spokeswoman Pamela Hill as confirming that an allocation of up to $100 million to middle-market fund Sentinel Capital Partners VII has been approved by the £33.9 billion pension fund’s board with and additional $25 million allocated to lower middle-market fund Sentinel Junior Capital II. PennSERS has a target PE allocation of 12% with its actual allocation standing at 13% as of 31 March, 2022.
