AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) has made two new hires in its Global Credit team, with Charles Fianko joining as Portfolio Manager, and Monique Carter as a Solutions Strategist, effective on 29 June and 26 May respectively. Fianko, who joins from Lloyds of London, will be responsible for managing global credit portfolios, assisting the team in delivering outperformance and cashflow for wholesale and institutional clients. At Lloyds he was also a member of Climate Change Investment Committee and brings experience in tailoring corporate strategy to deal with climate change risks within investment holdings.   Carter Carter, who joins from Insight
The asset management arm of Abu Dhabi state investor Mubadala has led a $100 million equity funding round in Swedish fintech Juni, according to a report by Reuters. Juni has also raise an addition $106 million in venture debt financing from Silicon Valley-based TriplePoint Capital. Juni’s existing investors – EQT Ventures, Felix Capital, Cherry Ventures and Partners of DST Global – also participated in the funding round.
Blackstone has made progress on its $6.3 billion buyout bid for troubled casino operator Crown Resort after Australia’s gambling regulators granted the the PE firm permission to run the Crown Resorts casinos in the country’s two largest cities, according to a report by Reuters. Sydney-listed Crown, which is 37% owned by billionaire James Packer, has backed Blackstone’s buyout offer having been damaged by revelations that it enabled money laundering and hit hard by the global pandemic.
Apollo Global Management Inc is in talks to support retail store operator Franchise Group’s acquisition of department store chain Kohl’s Corp through the provision of up to $2 billion in debt financing, according to a report by Reuters.

Numinus Wellness has acquired Novamind following Novamind’s receipt of a final order from the BC Supreme Court. As a result of the acquisition, Numinus now operates 13 wellness clinics, four clinical research facilities and a dedicated psychedelics research lab – positioning the company as a leading integrated mental wellness company providing ketamine- and psychedelic-assisted therapies.  This acquisition significantly grows Numinus’ client service offerings, geographic reach, and revenues.   Numinus has also appointed Dr Reid Robison (MD) as Chief Clinical Officer and Dr Paul Thielking (MD) as Chief Science Officer, who both join the Company from Novamind.
Digital asset exchange Huobi Global has launched Ivy Blocks, a new investment arm which will focus on decentralised finance (DeFi) and Web3 projects, according to a report by Cointelegraph. The report quotes a Huobi spokesperson as saying that the new division has over $1 billion in crypto assets under management to deploy.
AmeriLife Group (AmeriLife), a specialist in developing, marketing, and distributing life and health insurance, annuities, and retirement planning solutions, has secured an investment from Genstar Capital (Genstar), a private equity firm focused on investments in targeted segments of the financial services, healthcare, industrials and software industries. After six years of partnership with Excel Fitness, Altamont Capital Partners (Altamont) has exited its investment with a sale of the company to Olympus Partners.
