Kramer Levin has appointed Adi Herman as a partner in the firm’s Private Equity and Mergers and Acquisitions practices in New York.Herman advises clients on domestic and cross-border transactional and corporate matters, with a particular focus on the private equity space. His representations of private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, as well as public companies, include mergers and acquisitions, take-private transactions, dispositions, carve-outs, joint ventures and strategic partnerships, recapitalisations and restructurings, and corporate governance advice. Herman also counsels sponsors in growth capital investments and pre-IPO financings.

Alternative asset manager Black Diamond Capital Management (Black Diamond) has appointed Rodney S Cohen as Head of Private Equity. Cohen will have responsibility for managing Black Diamond’s portfolio of private equity funds, consisting of the BDCM Opportunity Funds II, III, IV, and V, aggregating approximately USD4 billion in capital.

YFM has completed a significant investment in West Midlands-based Innovative Safety Systems (ISS), a commercial vehicle safety specialist.This represents the final new investment from YFM’s Buyout Fund I, with the second fund having already announced a first close.
ISS was founded in 2009 by CEO Gavin Thoday and the business has grown rapidly in recent years through its commitment to product innovation, exceptional customer service and expertise in the waste management sector where it is a market leader.

Activa Capital’s portfolio company Alliance Etiquettes, a French company producing label printing for the wine & spirits industry, is acquiring 5 Sept Etiquette as part of its consolidation strategy.
With the closing of this deal Alliance Etiquettes completes its eighth external growth operation since 2015, bringing its turnover above EUR65 million. The group also continues to identify potential external bolt-on targets, both in France and abroad; particularly in Italy and Spain, according to the company.

NorthEdge Capital has completed the second exit from its Fund II with the sale of Cubic Motion to Epic Games.NorthEdge’s investment in September 2017 unlocked the next phase of growth for Cubic Motion, which saw the business expand into US markets with a permanent presence in Los Angeles and transition into new headquarters at Manchester Science Park.

Monomoy Capital Partners has acquired Mac Papers, Mac Paper Converters, and All Square Digital Solutions (collectively Mac Papers), a regional distributor of paper, packaging, wide format and envelope products in the Southeastern United States. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Edison Partners, a growth equity investment firm, has exited its investment in Scivantage to Refinitiv, a provider of financial markets data and insights, trading platforms, and open data and technology platforms. The exit generated a nearly 3x return for Edison Partners.
Scivantage has grown as a trusted Software as a Service (SaaS) innovator in the fintech market. The company’s primary solutions include wealth management offering Wealthsqope, a digital client experience, and Maxit E2E, an end-to-end tax reporting solution.
