Pacific Fund Systems opens European HQ

Pacific Fund Systems (PFS), the software company behind fund administration solution PFS-PAXUS, has opened its European operational headquarters in Douglas, Isle of Man.

PFS’s chief operating officer Paul Kneen (pictured) says: “PFS is a global software development company providing a powerful niche investment accounting and fund administration solution to a global client base, which has grown successfully year-on-year since the firm’s inception in 1999. The decision to locate our European operational headquarters on the Isle of Man was based on the clear benefits available; access to attractive modern office space and a talent pool of skilled industry professionals, supported by advanced technology infrastructure that has developed on the island over the last decade reflecting the islands growing success as a technology hub.

“Geographically the island’s time zone and location are also ideal to support our client base across Europe and further afield. This investment by Pacific Fund Systems in our centralised operations headquarters will allow us to continue to pursue our ambitious growth plans in the coming months and years ahead.”

The official office opening event took place on 29 September 2016, with all local staff in attendance, including the founders and group directors of Pacific Fund Systems, James Eldershaw and Graeme Vollemaere.

Local guests from all areas of the islands’ fund industry were represented at the launch, including PFS’ local clients alongside members of the Financial Services Authority and business leaders across a number of prominent fund management and professional services firms. Local MHKs Laurence Skelly and Bill Shimmins also attended.

PFS’ sales and marketing manager Kelly Ashe says: “Pacific Fund Systems will seek to leverage the benefits of our new European office as we pursue an active marketing strategy focussed on the expansion of our global client base.”

As part of the active marketing drive, the PFS team unveiled a suite of new product brochures and a fully redesigned website. A key objective of the website redesign was to optimise the site for mobile devices and provide a friendlier user experience that is compatible with web, tablets and mobile devices.

Kelly says: “The website redesign embraces technological, content and aesthetic enhancements to improve navigation, organisation, and usability, whilst maximising content SEO by utilising the latest web technologies. Our goal was to create a site that provides a very positive user experience and adds value by providing useful information for visitors. We hope the new website re-design will help achieve this objective.”
