Almost four out of five (75 per cent) of LPs expect sustainability to drive investment decisions over next five years, while 66 per cent of LPs see value creation as a leading driver of ESG, according to new research from Manulife on how private equity relates to sustainable investing.
The paper, called ‘Sustainable private equity and the new drivers of value creation’, also revealed that private equity firms are showing significant commitment to the UN’s Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) – including six of the world’s top ten PE firms having signed up to its six aspirational principles.

A new global study has found that 70 per cent of private equity firms plan to invest in LatAm in the next five years – ahead of Asia Pacific – while over nine out of ten North American-based GPs are set to commit capital to the region by 2026.
According to the report ‘Recovery to Rediscovery: Capitalizing on a Changed Private Equity Landscape’, commissioned by Auxadi, 90 per cent of US-based private equity firms said they are interested in doing deals in LatAm. Auxadi provides accounting and tax services to private equity, real estate and multinationals.

We’ve already surpassed the EUR45.1 billion that was invested into European-based startups in 2020 – with only half the year gone VC deal value is currently standing at a whopping EUR47.1 billion, according to Pitchbook’s Q2 VC report, released today (Monday, 26 July).
