Paul Hastings boosts Asia practice with M&A and compliance partner in Tokyo

Law firm Paul Hastings has appointed Eiji Kobayashi, a corporate M&A and compliance/investigations lawyer, as a partner in the firm’s Corporate practice in Tokyo, Japan.

Kobayashi joins from Norton Rose Fulbright where he was a partner and Head of Corporate, M&A and Securities for Japan. His corporate team totalling four other people is expected to join in the coming weeks.

Kobayashi’s practice focuses on advising Japanese corporations on outbound investments and M&A transactions. He also handles compliance and regulatory investigations for Japanese industrial companies. He has advised on a number of transactions across industry sectors including life sciences and healthcare, energy, technology and innovation, financial institutions and transport.
