Partners Capital Investment Group has appointed Christoph Günther and Dr Michael Viehs as head of public equities and global head of sustainable investing, respectively. Partners Capital is a global outsourced investment office with $48 billion in client assets under management.   Günther, based in New York, succeeds by Alex Band, who now serves as co-chief investment officer of Partners Capital alongside Suzanne Streeter.  Viehs meanwhile will report directly to Arjun Raghavan, the firm’s chief executive officer.

MidOcean Partners (MidOcean), a New York-based alternative asset manager specialising in middle-market private equity and alternative credit investments, has made two senior hires. Marshall Phelps will be joining the firm as a managing director and partner within MidOcean Private Equity focusing on the firm’s Business Services vertical, and Jim Henderson has joined as a managing director on the Investor Relations team. The hiring of Phelps and Henderson follows the addition of Erik Oken, former global chairman of investment banking at JP Morgan, to MidOcean Private Equity as Chairman earlier this month, and is further validation of MidOcean’s dedication to deepening

Broad Sky Partners (Broad Sky), a private equity firm that partners with leading middle market business services and consumer companies, has appointed Amy Margolis as managing director and head of business development. Margolis will focus on new deal origination and add-on acquisition sourcing, as well as oversee Broad Sky’s banking and other transaction intermediary relationships.    Broad Sky has also promoted chief operating officer Heidi Vanhamme to managing director. 

Gen II Fund Services (Gen II), an independent private capital fund administrator, has appointed Steven Millner as chief executive officer. Since co-founding Gen II in 2009, Millner has served as a managing principal and as a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee. Millner, along with his co-founders, have been involved in the administration of private capital funds for over 25 years. Gallagher has appointed Dan O’Connell to its mergers & acquisition (M&A) team in the North of England. A qualified lawyer, Dan joins from Walker Morris where he was a corporate associate.   Dan has over ten years’ experience in the legal sector and has worked at a number of leading law firms including Walker Morris, Irwin Mitchell and DWF.  He has experience advising on a range of corporate transactions including corporate M&A, PLC activity, such as floats, regulatory work and fundraises, and advising private equity clients on acquisitions, investments and disposals.

Funding Circle, a UK-based small business loan platform, has made internal promotions in its Capital Markets division. Dipesh Mehta and Sam Granger will become Co-Heads of Global Capital Markets, taking over from Sachin Patel who has been with Funding Circle for more than eight years.  The Capital Markets team has established Funding Circle’s institutional investment capability which now sees a wide range of investors – including banks, asset management companies, insurance companies, government-backed entities, individuals and funds – leveraging Funding Circle’s machine learning and technology capabilities to lend to SMEs at both speed and scale. 

Following a recent majority investment from GrowthCurve Capital, Mistplay, a play-and-earn and game discovery platform for mobile games, has appointed seven senior executives. The appointments are: Giordano Contestabile, Chief Product Officer; Luca Fiaschi, Chief Data and AI Officer; Jason Heller, Chief Growth Officer; Malvika Jethmalani, Chief People Officer; Nicholas Kerr, Head of Loyalty; Don Pratt, Chief Financial Officer; and Deirdre Sheridan, General Counsel & Chief Privacy Officer.

ICG, a global alternative asset manager, has appointed Nick Kogevinas and Benjamin Zülch as Managing Directors within the firm’s SDP team, based in London and Frankfurt, respectively. Kogevinas joins ICG with more than 19 years of experience in Leveraged Finance roles, across UK and US markets, having most recently worked in Citigroup’s leveraged finance team for 15 years originating both sponsor and corporate leveraged financings in Western Europe.  Zülch will take on the responsibility for origination and execution of investment opportunities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) has made two new hires in its Global Credit team, with Charles Fianko joining as Portfolio Manager, and Monique Carter as a Solutions Strategist, effective on 29 June and 26 May respectively. Fianko, who joins from Lloyds of London, will be responsible for managing global credit portfolios, assisting the team in delivering outperformance and cashflow for wholesale and institutional clients.
