Middle market private equity firm Gryphon Investors (Gryphon) has appointed John Schumacher as a Partner to focus on multiple investment, managerial and strategic areas across the firm.
More specifically, Schumacher’s responsibilities will include being a member of Gryphon’s Investment Review and Quarterly Portfolio Review Committees, co-heading Gryphon’s mezzanine funds, co-leading fundraising, and coaching various Gryphon professionals.
Schumacher has 30 years of private equity experience, having co-founded and led GoldPoint Partners LLC, a subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company, where he presided over USD7.4 billion invested in 351 direct deals and more than USD15 billion in fund commitments. During
Gallagher has added Giles Hambly to its Major Risks Practice team as a producer, with a focus on supporting clients in relation to tax related insurance solutions.
Having originally trained at EY Sydney within its international tax services division, Hambly subsequently joined KPMG and, most recently was employed at Norton Rose Fulbright solicitors in London. Hambly is an admitted solicitor of The Supreme Court of New South Wales, Australia and holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree.

Foresight Group (Foresight), an independent private equity and infrastructure investment manager, has added Charles O’Riordan to its private equity team.
Based in Cambridge, O’Riordan will support the deployment of the GBP100 million Foresight East of England Fund.
O’Riordan joins Matt McLoughlin and Bill Yost in Foresight’s Cambridge office, strengthening Foresight’s commitment to the East of England. His focus will be on building relationships and identifying investment opportunities in the region. Robert Foster has joined Baird’s Global Investment Banking business as a Managing Director in its Global Consumer Team.
An established veteran with 25 years of industry experience, Foster will lead Baird’s European Consumer Banking coverage, working in close partnership with Boris Partin and other senior investment bankers to further expand Baird’s Global Consumer franchise across the region. He will be based out of Baird’s London office.

Sanne, a provider of alternative asset and corporate business services, has promoted Peter Nagle from Global Head of Client Growth to the role of Chief Commercial Officer.
In his new role, Nagle will be responsible for client service delivery in all jurisdictions and the firm’s continued commercial development.

Foresight Group (Foresight), an independent infrastructure and private equity investment manager, has opened a new latest Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) office in Luxembourg.
The new AIFM licence will enable Foresight to meet the needs of its EU investor base and strengthen its presence in continental Europe. Blue Point Capital Partners (Blue Point) has announced three promotions across its investment team: Jonathan Pressnell to Partner, Evan Cottington to Vice President and Bobby Grebenc to Senior Associate.

BEX Capital, a private equity secondaries specialist, has opened a new office in New York headed by Stéphane Chevrier who joins the BEX team as Partner, Head of Origination and Member of the Investment Committee.
BEX Capital, founded in France in 2010, is the first secondary firm dedicated to the acquisition of positions in global private equity fund-of-funds, secondary funds and co-investment funds (as opposed to positions in direct funds). It has over USD500 million of capital under management.
