Dentons has recruited three partners to work in its private equity and corporate/M&A practices in Europe. They are Christopher Rose (CEE/UK), Alessandro Dubini (Italy) and Simon Vogel (Germany).   Rose joins as head of Dentons’ Europe venture technology group, splitting his time between Moscow, London and Warsaw. He joins from Squire Patton Boggs, where he was head of the emerging markets private equity group.   Rose specialises in cross-border private equity and venture capital investments and exits, as well as M&A and joint ventures. AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets (AXA IM – Real Assets) has appointed Steve McCarthy as the new Head of North America, and Aaron Kutner as US Director of Acquisitions, effective immediately.  Olivier Thoral, current Head of North America, will return to AXA IM – Real Assets’ headquarters in Paris where he will assume new responsibilities.    In his new role as Head of North America, McCarthy, who for the last three years has been AXA IM – Real Assets’ US Head of Asset Management & Transactions, is now responsible for defining, recommending and executing all aspects of the business’

Law firm Goodwin has expanded its private equity and private investment funds practices with the appointment of six new partners, 15 associates and five trainees in the London office, all of whom join from the London office of King & Wood Mallesons (KWM). The group comprises the bulk of the former SJ Berwin investment funds team and includes Michael Halford, Ed Hall, Laura Charkin, Shawn D’Aguiar, Patrick Deasy, and Ajay Pathak. Downing has appointed Richard Lewis as an investment director focusing on its growth capital portfolio. Infrastructure and private equity investment manager Foresight Group has promoted Minal Patel, Ricardo Pineiro and Matt Smith to partner as of 1 January 2017.
