Peer-to-peer finance platform Assetz Capital has appointed Rob Pailin as its chief commercial officer and member of the board of directors.  Pailin joins from RBS Corporate, where was managing director of the bank’s corporate business in the north. As a senior executive at RBS for more than 10 years, Pailin was also chief operating officer for RBS Corporate EU divestment team, responsible for a wide range of functions including business risk and controls, change management, customer insight, regulatory reporting and management information and analytics.    He has recently been preparing for RBS’s re-brand to Williams & Glyn ahead of its planned
O2 Investment Partners has appointed Sean Darin to the firm’s investment team.  Darin will be responsible for evaluating new transactions, due diligence, underwriting, and monitoring O2's portfolio companies.   Prior to joining O2, Darin worked for RIN Capital, a private investment firm, where he was responsible for evaluating and underwriting growth equity transactions, primarily in the healthcare space.   Prior to RIN Capital, Darin worked for FINNEA Group, a Detroit-based investment bank, where he specialised in executing middle market buy- and sell-side M&A transactions.   Darin began his career as an analyst in the financial institutions investment banking group of

Bernhardt has over 15 years of experience. Unigestion has appointed four investment experts to its private equity team, as it looks to strengthen its European team with a particular focus on secondary and direct investment activities. Pieter-Jan Frederix was appointed investment director within the private equity team in December 2015. Frederix joined from the Antenna Group where he was responsible for direct investments and has extensive experience through previous roles at KPMG Corporate Finance, Bear Stearns and private equity firm Veronis Suhler Stevenson.   In May 2016, Unigestion also appointed Andreas Georgiades as an investment manager. He jouned from Nomura International where he focused on M&A.  
Xavier Poussardin, GLAS
GLAS, an independent provider of finance administration services, has appointed Xavier Poussardin as head of capital markets business development (EMEA). Poussardin will be responsible for expanding GLAS’ services beyond direct lending and entering new geographies.   His appointment supports GLAS’ continued growth in the industry. Independent investment bank Zeus Capital has appointed Rachel Birkett as research analyst in its Manchester office. Birkett, who is a qualified chartered accountant, joins from Brown Shipley where she spent two years as a company analyst and fund manager. In this role, Birkett researched the consumer discretionary sector of the FTSE350 to identify trends and support investment cases, as well as managing a concentrated portfolio of GBP90 million fixed income investments.   Birkett also worked for three years as an audit assistant manager at business advisory firm Deloitte, covering field managing statutory audits across a range of industry sectors.
