SC Distributors (SCD), a wholesale distributor of alternative investment offerings, has appointed PJ McDaniel as eastern divisional sales manager.
In this role, McDaniel (pictured) will manage SCD’s sales and marketing initiatives in the Eastern US, including the oversight of the external wholesaling team.
McDaniel returns to SCD after having initially joined the company immediately after its inception, where he was both a wholesaler and sales manager.
Most recently, McDaniel served as managing director and national sales manager at Highland Capital Management where he was responsible for sales, as well as securing new selling agreements, within the independent broker/dealer
After 15 years in business, Financière Cambon is changing its name and visual identity to Cambon Partners.
The change is designed to reflect the firm’s growing international standing and mark the beginning of a new phase in its development.
Cambon Partners, the only French M&A boutique with a physical presence in the Silicon Valley, has also hired Laurent Azout, previously partner at Messier Maris & Associés, in charge of the TMT sector, and executive director at Lazard.
Azout has completed over 60 transactions, mainly in the TMT sector, and has extensive expertise in the digital space.

Seven Peaks Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund focused on sparking innovation in the Pacific Northwest, has added Tom Gonser, founder of DocuSign, to its roster of partners.
Gonser most recently served as chief strategy officer at DocuSign, which provides eSignature and document workflow management solutions.
He previously worked at Apple, McCaw Cellular, AT&T Wireless and Wildfire Communications.

Recruitment of marketing and fundraising staff across the alternative funds sector, including hedge funds, private equity firms, real estate managers and third-party marketing firms, reached an all-time high in the third quarter of 2016, according to corporate advisory and search firm Contect Jensen Partners (CJP).

European venture capital firm Truffle Capital has appointed Patrick Kron as its new chairman.
Kron replaces Henri Moulard who becomes honorary chairman.

Fund governance firm DMS Governance has expanded its US business with the appointment of William H Woolverton, former senior managing director and general counsel at Gottex Fund Management, in its New York office.
Woolverton (pictured), who will serve as managing director – US and head of US legal, has experience working on fund governance and administration issues with a particular emphasis on managing legal and compliance issues for a wide variety of public and private investment funds.

First Names Group has promoted Andrew De La Haye to deputy managing director of its Jersey trust business, effective immediately.
De La Haye previously worked as client services director at the group for two years.
He joined the business following the acquisition of Seymour Trust in 2014 where he held the position of managing director.

Investec Specialist Bank has added new hires to its fund finance team, led by Simon Hamilton, global head of fund finance.
Based in the team’s London office, Nick Rusling, Alan Macdonald, Ian Weise and Oliver Bartholomew will play a key role in the development of the fund finance team as an innovative and agile financing provider.
Rusling joins from Barclays’ debt finance team. In his previous role as Director, he created a number of innovative financing structures provided by Barclays and handled the management of the sales process of a book of debt to Ares in December 2015.
