Eversheds has appointed Pinsent Masons partner Andy Phillips to its Manchester corporate team.
Phillips, who is expected to join Eversheds’ Manchester office in early 2017, will lead the Eversheds private equity group in the North West.
Phillips has experience and expertise advising PE institutions and management teams and sellers on management buy-outs, exits and private company M&A within a range of sectors.

Oaktree Capital Group has appointed Steven Gilbert to its board of directors, effective 24 October 2016.
Gilbert is the founder and chairman of the board of institutional investment firm Gilbert Global Equity Partners.

Bowside Capital, a private investment firm that specialises in the North American private equity, small capitalisation market, has appointed Dru Rushing as a vice president.
Rushing will be involved in sourcing, due diligence and monitoring of private equity investments.
Prior to joining Bowside, Rushing spent over seven years as an investment banker focused on the business services and healthcare sectors.
He was most recently a vice president in the Atlanta office of Raymond James Financial, where he participated in over 20 transactions in mergers and acquisitions, debt capital markets, equity capital markets and private placements.

SharesPost, a liquidity provider to the late-stage, venture-backed asset class, has appointed Kelly Rodriques to its board of directors.
Rodriques has more than 25 years of financial services and technology experience and has been an investor in more than 20 venture-backed firms.
He was a founding investor of mFoundry, a provider of mobile banking which was acquired by Fidelity Information Systems in 2013.
Most recently, he served as CEO of Pensco, an alternative asset custodian.

Ignition Partners, an early stage business software venture capital firm, has appointed Bob Kelly as a managing partner in the firm’s Seattle office.
Kelly will be one of the firm’s four partners responsible for fund investments and overall firm strategy.
Kelly brings more than 20 years of experience with him from Microsoft where he held a variety of positions, most recently holding the position of corporate vice president for the cloud and enterprise business development and strategy team where he drove the merger and acquisition strategy and coordination of cross-division strategic planning.

Global investment bank GCA Altium has made three senior promotions in its Manchester team.
Dominic Orsini and Adam Sivner become directors, while Mark Smith takes the role of assistant director.
Orsini has spent four years at GCA Altium, joining the company as an associate in September 2012. During his time at the firm, he has predominantly focused on the TMT sector, being involved in high profile transactions including Ascribe, Metronet, TotalMobile and Guestline.

Ip joined Ropes & Gray in 2006 in the private investment funds group.

He also has extensive experience advising fund sponsors on all aspects of their business, including the formation and ongoing representation of Asia-focused private investment funds.

UK private equity house Maven Capital Partners has appointed Melanie Goward as investment director in the firm's London-based investment team.
Goward brings more than 15 years’ experience in investing in early-stage businesses, including the technology, life science and biotechnology sectors.
Goward will be responsible for handling new early-stage and technology private equity investments for Maven across the south and south-west of England and Wales.

Otterbourg has named Daniel Fiorillo as head of the firm’s restructuring practice group as of 1 January 2017.
Jonathan Helfat, who led the group for more than 25 years, will be stepping down from the position but will continue to practice actively with the firm.
Fiorillo (pictured) has a broad practice representing secured and unsecured creditors, hedge funds, private equity groups, corporations, equity holders, investors and advisors that deal with financially distressed businesses both in bankruptcy and in various out of court workout and restructuring arrangements.

Private equity firm CenterOak Partners has hired three new professionals.
Ben Adams has been appointed vice president; Carrie Calhoun as senior associate of business development and investor relations; and Josh Weaver as associate.
