Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP has announced that John Patten, a specialist in intellectual property and technology transactions, will be joining the firm in the Corporate Department, resident in London.
Latham & Watkins has made a double partner hire, with Fergus Wheeler and Paul Yin joining the London office within the Banking Practice. Wheeler and Yin have substantial experience advising international private credit funds and direct lenders, commercial and investment banks, private equity sponsors, and corporate borrowers on a variety of complex UK, European, and global cross-border debt financing matters, with a particular focus on private credit transactions. 
Former NBCUniversal Chief Executive Jeff Shell is in advanced talks to join private-equity firm RedBird Capital Partners, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. 
Churchill Asset Management and Arcmont Asset Management, the U.S. and European operating companies of Nuveen Private Capital, have appointed  Jamal Hammoud as Managing Director and Senior Investment Strategist. Hammoud will be responsible for supporting and amplifying Nuveen Private Capital’s presence and fundraising efforts in the Middle East.
DWS has appointment  Dan Robinson as EMEA head of alternative credit to accelerate its private credit footprint. This appointment comes as DWS delivers on an initiative to grow its €114b Alternatives franchise. DWS’s Alternatives business has a 50-year plus track record including particular strength in real estate, infrastructure and liquid real assets.
European private equity firm Exponent has chosen Dublin as the location for its new operational base after deciding to utilise Ireland’s newly revised Investment Limited Partnership structure to allow its Irish business to operate as an Alternative Investment Fund Manager.

Scott Shleifer, the head of the $30bn-plus private equity business at Chase Coleman’s $58bn hedge fund firm Tiger Global, is to step down from his role at the end of this year, according to a report by The Financial Times.
