Permira is exploring a potential exit from Neuraxpharm, the European pharmaceutical group specialising in central nervous system (CNS) disorders, in a deal that could value the company at €3bn–€4bn ($3.5bn–$4.2bn), according to a report by Bloomberg.
The buyout firm, which acquired Neuraxpharm in 2020, is in early talks with advisers ahead of a formal sale process that could launch later this year. Sources cautioned that deliberations remain at a preliminary stage and Permira may ultimately decide to retain ownership.
Headquartered in Spain and Germany, Neuraxpharm develops and commercialises treatments for neurological and psychiatric conditions including epilepsy, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, depression and psychosis. Its pipeline includes BRIUMVI, a multiple sclerosis drug seen as a potential earnings driver.
The company has expanded its footprint under Permira’s ownership, establishing operations across Europe, Brazil, the Middle East and Australia, alongside distribution partnerships in additional markets.
