Phoenix Equity Partners (Phoenix), a UK private equity firm specialising in working alongside founder-entrepreneurs, has made a growth investment in UK cybersecurity specialist Cybanetix, marking the fifth investment from the firm’s 2022 Fund.
Founded by Martin Jakobsen, a technology and cyber expert, in 2017, Cybanetix has grown rapidly to become one of the UK’s leading Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs). Cybanetix partners with a range of market leading technologies to underpin their services and, from Cybanetix’s state-of-the-art UK Security Operations Centre, the company supports a range of high-profile enterprise customers with monitoring, defence and response to cyber threats.
Cybanetix’s core UK market is valued at over £500m and is growing at 15% per annum, in-line with the growth of enterprise customers’ digital activities. This has led to increasing complexity in, and exposure to, cyber threats, that are best handled by specialist providers. Phoenix has partnered with Cybanetix’s founder team to support the company’s rapid organic growth in this fast-moving market.
Phoenix was advised by Houlihan Lokey (Corporate Finance), Addleshaw Goddard (Legal), EY (Tax & Financial Due Diligence), Altman Solon (Commercial Due Diligence), Mactavish (Insurance Due Diligence) and Corporate Balance (ESG Due Diligence).
Cybanetix was advised by BCLP.
