Atlanta-based private equity firm Resurgens Technology Partners has completed fundraising for its Fund III with $800m in commitments, exceeding those of its two previous funds, RTP I and RTP II, which raised $200m and $500m respectively. As with its predecessors, Fund III will target majority investments in founder-owned software businesses as well as carve-out transactions or venture-backed recapitalisations. Fred Sturgis, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Resurgens Technology Partners, commented: “The software private equity segment is highly specialised, and we believe that our considerable market tenure and reputation, large and diverse value-creation team, and steadfast commitment to the lower end of the market create a compelling value proposition for Resurgens and our investors.” Resurgens focuses on North American and European lower middle-market software companies.
