RF Investment Partners acquires Rent-A-John portable sanitation platform

New York-based private equity firm RF Investment Partners has acquired Rent-A-John, a US provider of portable sanitation facilities, representing the firm’s first acquisition under its newly formed portable sanitation platform.

Rent-A-John is based in North Carolina and offers portable sanitation rental options to construction sites, industrial operations, film production crews and special events throughout the greater Wilmington, NC area.

As part of the transaction, James Murphy will serve as CEO of Rent-A-John. In his new role, Murphy will oversee day-to-day operations, implement strategy, drive corporate development and integrate acquisitions.

Murphy previously spent 15 years launching new markets as an executive for several temporary site service platforms, which included scaling new regions for United Site Services, the largest national provider of portable sanitation services.

RF is actively seeking M&A opportunities in the essential services sector. The firm provides capital ranging from $10m to $40m to support lower-middle-market companies in situations including acquisition financing, growth capital investments, recapitalisations, refinancings and management buyouts.
