Sentinel Capital acquires electrical products specialist NSI Industries

Sentinel Capital Partners, a private equity firm that invests in promising mid-market companies, has acquired NSI Industries, a provider of branded products for the electrical and HVAC markets, from PE firm Odyssey Investment Partners.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

NSI comprises two divisions, electrical and HVAC, that sell through third-party distributors and have strong manufacturing capabilities. The electrical division’s brands include Bridgeport, Polaris, and Tork supplying contractors with a range of products including insulated connectors, fittings, wire management products, fibre assemblies, and other high-value-add components.

NSI’s HVAC division, meanwhile, which comprises the Duro Dyne and Supco brands, supplies components used by contractors and installers, including hanging systems, fasteners, and air regulation accessories.

Sentinel’s previous experience in electrical manufacturing and distribution sector includes ECM Industries (electrical products for construction, maintenance, lighting, irrigation, landscape supply, and gas utility markets) and Power Products (diversified electrical products). Sentinel’s broader expertise in industrial manufacturing and distribution includes investments in Chromalox (commercial and industrial electric heating products and systems), Engineered Controls (specialised pressure regulators, valves, and other controls), LTI Boyd (engineered sealing and thermal management components), RotoMetrics (rotary tooling products), Sonny’s (conveyorised car wash systems and related products), and Spectrum Safety Solutions (fire detection and suppression products).
