Seyfarth Shaw adds general counsel from RNK Capital

Law firm Seyfarth Shaw has hired A. Donald Lepore in its corporate department as a partner in New York.

Lepore joins from RNK Capital, a private investment firm specialising in the environmental, clean technology and renewable energy sectors, where he served as general counsel for the past four years.

At RNK Capital, Lepore oversaw a variety of complex transactions and investments and was also responsible for investment fund formation, regulation and compliance. His practice focuses on public and private mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures and financing transactions, as well as private investment fund formation and regulation.

Lepore’s move marks the 16th attorney to join Seyfarth’s corporate department since the start of 2011, while its footprint in the energy industry grows. Last month, Rob Winner joined Seyfarth’s corporate department in Chicago from Ungaretti & Harris, where he led that firm’s energy and clean technologies group.

“With a unique background in corporate transactions and private fund formation, Don adds a significant general counsel dimension to two core practice areas for our growing corporate department,” says Esteban Ferrer, chair of Seyfarth’s corporate department. "Just as important, Don’s energy experience is a nice complement to Rob Winner’s practice, and we look forward to expanding our presence in this arena."
