Black Box Intelligence (BBI), a portfolio company of Diversis Capital Partners, is to acquire restaurant industry benchmarking firm MillerPulse LLC. The move comes just four months after Diversis acquired a majority stake in Black Box Intelligence.

Queen’s Park Equity (QPE) has supported the management buyout of Sagacity Solutions (Sagacity), a provider of tech-enabled customer data management solutions, led by the founders of the business, Anita Dougall, Malka Townshend and Harry Dougall.

Hayden AI Technologies, Inc (Hayden AI), a smart city solutions provider, has closed a USD4.5 million funding round led by BootstrapLabs, an early-stage Silicon Valley venture capital firm focused on Applied Artificial Intelligence.
This brings the company’s total funding to USD9.5 million, including a USD5 million seed round from last year. The new funding will go towards accelerating the development and delivery of AI-powered solutions aimed at enabling governments to achieve their goals of safer streets, equitable transportation, and efficient urban mobility.

Concentrix Corporation, a global provider of customer experience (CX) solutions and technology, has reached a definitive agreement to sell its insurance third-party administration operations and software platform (CIS) to Abry Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm, and Hoplon Capital, an asset manager focused on digital disruption of end markets including insurance.
This will create a new company which will operate as a standalone business bringing innovation to the insurance marketplace. The transaction is expected to close by the end of May 2021 subject to the approval of customary regulatory requirements and closing conditions. The sale does not impact Concentrix’

NV5 Global, a provider of compliance, technology, and engineering consulting solutions, has acquired PES Environmental, an environmental engineering and consulting company providing environmental site assessment, water resources and stormwater management, permitting and compliance, industrial hygiene, and litigation support services.
The acquisition was made with a combination of cash and stock and will be immediately accretive to NV5’s earnings.

Preqin, a specialist in alternative assets data, tools and insights, has appointed Tom Hunt as its new Chief Technology Officer.
In addition to scaling up Preqin’s technology efforts, Hunt will focus on further developing the company’s solutions and data services to continue to provide the alternatives industry with market-leading data and insights.
Hunt was formerly a technology leader at Kantar and GlobalWebIndex, both market research and data analytics companies. He brings a breadth of experience leading engineering and development teams and leveraging data science to collect and manage large and complex datasets.

According to the first estimates obtained by the Spanish Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (ASCRI), through the European platform EDC, the volume of private capital investment in Spain reached EUR1.125 billion in the first quarter of 2021, 84 per cent more than in the same of period last year, from a total of 236 deals.

Churches Fire, a Southampton-based provider of fire safety and security compliance services, has secured a significant GBP75 million refinancing package from HSBC UK and HSBC Asset Management, Northleaf Capital Partners and Siemens Bank.
The senior debt package will provide Churches, which is backed by private equity sponsor Horizon Capital, with significant firepower for future acquisitions. In the last four years the business has successfully acquired 14 companies and now serves over 15,000 customers across the UK.
