Talis Ventures joins USD4.2m Series A for travel tech pioneer bd4travel

Travel industry predictive analytics specialist bd4travel today has closed a USD4.2m Series A funding round, with participation from Talis Capital, Hoxton Ventures, Robin Klein and a number of prominent business angels.

The funding will be used to extend the product offering and accelerate international sales. Expedia founder, Simon Breakwell, has also been appointed as chairman of bd4travel.

Developed by an experienced team of travel industry veterans and pioneering data scientists, bd4travel provides online travel companies with an audience relationship management (ARM) platform. It's machine learning algorithms detect the detailed travel wishes of each unique user in real-time, using a range of in-depth predictive personal insights. This allows merchants to provide users a unique shopping experience that can be tailored to fit the needs and desires for each individual.

bd4travel’s launching customers include some of the largest travel companies in the world, who are seeking to know who their users are, provide higher customer satisfaction and achieve improved conversion rates. Use cases already developed include churn prevention, high-value visitor conversion and relevance scoring of search results.

Matus Maar, director and co-founder of Talis Capital, says: “bd4travel is uniquely positioned to revolutionise the way global merchants interact with their audience. SaaS enterprise solutions that drive conversion are a key focus for Talis Ventures, so we are delighted to be working alongside the talented bd4travel team.”

“Travel companies who want a relevant relationship with their audience, have to stop treating everyone as an average and to start understanding and servicing them individually. Our solution will be the basis for many players to massively improve their customer experience,” says Andy Owen-Jones, CEO of bd4travel.

Breakwell adds: “The artificial intelligence baked into the solution sets bd4travel´s Audience Relationship Management platform apart. It is a digital nervous system for travel retailers. Real-time personalisation is much talked about but usually just means email customisation.  This platform will change how travel companies interact with their customers.”

Vasile Foca, director and co-founder of Talis Capital, says: “The traction bd4travel has gained with the leading players in travel ecommerce is exciting. Data analytics and business intelligence solutions will be key for merchants in the highly competitive travel sector, we are confident that bd4travel will deliver tangible results for enterprises.”
