Unlocking the transformative power of private markets

With the Private Capital Summit Europe 2025 just three months away, Aftab Bose, Private Equity Wire’s Head of Content, outlines why next year’s flagship European event is a ‘must-attend’ for GPs and LPs alike…

What is the aim of the Private Capital Summit Europe 2025?

Private markets are transforming the world. Look at the role they’re playing in tech advancement, the green transition, sports, music and entertainment, and other critical sectors and economies worldwide.

And while there is a passion among the investor community to align with this transformative journey, there is a need for education, collaboration and conversation to understand how this can be achieved with all stakeholders in mind – all while meeting fiduciary and liquidity demands.

The Private Capital Summit 2025 is a platform for this conversation between the LP and GP communities – to unlock new investment opportunities and ensure private capital is realising its transformative potential.

What insights will GPs and LPs gain from the summit’s sessions on emerging investment trends, risk assessment, manager performance, and LP priorities?

We’re seeing private markets innovate through what has been an historically challenging period for the industry.

Firms have adapted fundraising efforts – by raising capital from new regions and investor types. Flexible fund structures are on the rise, to accommodate a range of currencies and liquidity ratios. High-opportunity asset classes are firmly in the spotlight – credit and secondaries being among the notable examples. There is a renewed focus on value creation, with firms hiring in-house operators to deploy and transform their assets with speed and scale – leveraging technology, ESG and a range of other levers. All this against the backdrop of major elections, escalations and other tremendously influential macro-economic forces that are impacting risk dynamics and the pace of change in private markets.

Managers and investors coming to our summit can expect a deep dive into all these trends, with intimate, closed door discussions that feature key decision-makers from across the private markets industry.

What makes this summit an essential platform for GPs aiming to connect with LPs and strengthen their fundraising efforts, and how is the event set up to deliver value for investors on the day?

This is a boutique summit. We’re not aiming to be a trade or industry show with large crowds – our value comes from the meticulous thought and research behind the content of each session, where leaders in this industry can learn and exchange ideas in an intimate, sophisticated setting.

We know there is a need in the investor community to be informed and educated about the evolution of private markets, and all the new opportunities emerging in the space. We offer the opportunity for managers to showcase their knowledge in this space, by shaping the narrative on what are some of the industry’s most pivotal challenges.

For investors, our LP lounge will not only offer some respite from the buzz, but it will also feature streamed content that is specifically relevant to each LP type: family offices, sovereign wealth funds, insurance funds, fund of funds, pension funds, endowments, and others.

We recognise that each class of investor has its own challenges, and need to discuss these with their peers in a closed-door setting. This is what we offer on the day, alongside a chance to hear from managers on how they’re meeting the ever-evolving needs of the investor community.

All Private Equity Wire summits benefit from our monthly insights programme, which dives deep into the most interesting and/or urgent themes unfolding into the industry. Each quarter, we survey 200+ C-suite leaders from GP and LP organisations and conduct 20+ follow-up interviews – all of which forms the basis of our event agenda.
