VITL raises GBP550k in follow on funding

VITL, the personalised nutrition platform, has finalised a GBP550,000 round of follow on funding, led by the Angel CoFund and backed by Zoopla founder and CEO Alex Chesterman, and Bulldog founder and CEO Simon Duffy.

The company will use the investment to expand its features and products, as it aims to become the most advanced health and wellbeing platform in the world.

VITL uses advanced diagnostic technology to create tailor-made nutritional solutions based on a user’s unique profile. Users complete a short consultation in the app or on the web, which has been developed in partnership with a panel of nutritional experts. The platform then uses artificial intelligence to analyse their data and generate personalised supplement and nutritional recommendations. This not only provides VITL’s users with insight into how they can proactively manage and improve their health, but also with a solution that’s tailor-made to help them achieve their specific diet or lifestyle goals.

VITL will be using the funding to expand the platform’s functionality as well as broaden its product range to include meal plans and diagnostic services. The data generated will also help deepen the experience for users, giving them further understanding of how they can improve their diet and lifestyle through the recommendations and advice that VITL then makes.

Jonathan Relph, founder and CEO of VITL, says: “With the help of our investors, we’re building the most advanced health and wellbeing platform in the world. Our goal is to use health data, which is becoming ever more available through technological advances, to take the guesswork out of personal nutrition. This capital helps us to broaden the products and services we offer our customers, and fulfil our ambition to help people feel 100% more often.”

Tim Mills, Investment Director at the Angel CoFund, says: “VITL is capitalising on technology to place its offering at the forefront of innovation in personal health and wellness. The importance of personalisation when it comes to diet and health is becoming more widely understood, and we expect to see it to continue to grow in 2018. We’re pleased to support VITL’s revolution in the provision of high quality, individually tailored nutritional products.”
