Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati expands private equity practice

Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, a provider of legal services to growth enterprises and the financial institutions that invest in them, has named Christopher W. Kirkham as a partner at the firm.

Kirkham (pictured) will be based in the firm’s San Francisco office.

Kirkham specialises in the representation of private equity sponsors, commercial borrowers, and financial institutions in secured and unsecured senior and mezzanine debt financing transactions and related workouts and restructurings.

In addition, he has experience advising on cross-border financings and leveraged acquisition transactions, as well as structuring distressed acquisition financings and negotiating credit facilities for investment funds.

Prior to joining Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, Kirkham was a corporate finance partner in the San Francisco office of O’Melveny & Myers. Before his tenure at O’Melveny & Myers, Kirkham was an associate in the London office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton.

"Christopher has deep experience with private equity firms and their portfolio companies, particularly in the area of debt finance," says chief executive Steve Bochner. "We see substantial opportunities in this area, and know that Christopher will be a terrific addition to our already strong mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance teams, particularly as we meet increasing demand from our private equity clients. We welcome him to our partnership."
