Carlyle names head of human resources for Europe and Mena

Private equity firm The Carlyle Group has named Annie Paydar head of human resources for the European and Mena regions.

Paydar has worked in human resources at Carlyle for more than five years, previously leading HR activities in the New York office. She will now be based in London.

Carlyle’s human resources team develops and implements Carlyle’s HR strategy and initiatives on a global basis, including compensation programmes, performance management, training and development, recruitment and retention, and organisational development.

Lori Sabet, Carlyle managing director and head of global human resources, says: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to appoint this role from within the firm. Annie started with Carlyle in our Washington, D.C. headquarters and most recently successfully built out the HR function for our New York office. Given her in-depth HR expertise, we are confident that she will also carry and build out the Carlyle HR culture to the European and Mena regions as she embarks on this role.”

Prior to joining Carlyle in 2004, Paydar was part of the human resources team with The Blackstone Group in New York City.

Paydar says: “I welcome the opportunity to lead the human resources activities for the European and Mena regions. These regions play a critical role in the growth and vitality of the firm and I look forward to partnering with our funds to ensure we have the best programs in place to retain and motivate our most vital asset – our employees. We will also look to add to our exceptional pool of investment professionals with strategic talent placements as we continue to pursue new opportunities and return value to our investors.”
