Clifford Chance advises Bridgepoint on acquisition of LGC

A Clifford Chance team has advised Teddington Bidco, a newly incorporated company backed by the Bridgepoint funds and management, on its acquisition of LGC, a provider of chemical and biological analytical services and reference materials.

The transaction, which valued LGC at GBP257m, extends a recent spell of success for Clifford Chance in private equity, having advised the banks on the CPA Global deal and Warburg Pincus on the Survitec deal, both in the last two weeks.

The transaction team was led from Clifford Chance’s corporate practice with the banking, anti-trust and pensions practices.

The team included Matthew Layton, Kem Ihenacho, Caroline Jury, John Dawson, Clare Hoxey, Andrew Mills, Natsuko Sugihara, Laura Smith, Daniel Griggs, Mark Jephcott and Stuart Padgham.
