Thoma Bravo closes investment in SMA Technologies

Global software and technology investment firm Thoma Bravo has closed a strategic growth investment in SMA Technologies, a provider of automation solutions for the financial services industry.

Financial terms of the transaction, which sees existing investor ParkerGale Capital retain a minority position in the business, have not been disclosed.

SMA, which was founded by former NASA automation experts in 1980, will use the new funding to fuel growth.

SMA Technologies’ OpCon is a workload automation and orchestration platform for banks, credit unions, insurance companies and other financial services businesses.

Raymond James served as financial advisor and Kirkland & Ellis LLP served as legal advisor to SMA Technologies.
