The Florida Venture Forum, an entrepreneurial networking group for identifying sources of venture capital, has named Charles ‘Chuck’ D.
The Florida Venture Forum, an entrepreneurial networking group for identifying sources of venture capital, has named Charles ‘Chuck’ D. Riggs III, partner at Carr Riggs & Ingram, to the board of directors.
A Certified Public Accountant, Riggs has professional experience in audit, tax, financial planning and technology systems management for public and privately-held companies and not-for-profit organisations.
An active member of the community, Riggs will use his experience to help promote the Florida Venture Forum’s mission of ensuring the success of entrepreneurial ventures by offering expert counsel, educational advice and managerial assistance.
‘Chuck’s accounting expertise will provide valuable insight to our Board as we continue to educate and empower entrepreneurial ventures throughout the state of Florida,’ says Robin Kovaleski, executive director of the Florida Venture Forum. ‘We are confident that he will prove to be a tremendous asset to our board, and look forward to working with him now and in the future.’
Riggs is a member of the Tampa Bay CEO Council, board member for Morton Plant Mease Health Care as well as the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Area Sports Foundation and member of Heritage United Methodist Church.
He is also past chair of the Outback Bowl, FICPA Education Foundation, Clearwater Chamber of Commerce, Advisory Council at the University of South Florida School of Accounting, a past board member of Tampa Bay Sports Committee, and past president of Kiwanis Club of Springtime City.
A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Riggs is also active in the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a key partner in many multi-year fraud investigations, with expertise in forensic accounting.
