Tim West joins Future Capital as deputy chief executive

Future Capital Partners, the GBP6bn alternative investment boutique, has hired Tim West as its deputy chief executive.

West joins from Babcock and Brown where he was head of the London office and chief operating officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Prior to Babcock & Brown, West was European chief operating officer for iShares, the exchange-traded funds business of Barclays Global Investors.

Before BGI, he held senior roles in investment banking and wealth management in the UK and Switzerland.

West will work closely alongside chief executive Tim Levy and Future Capital’s senior team to manage and further develop its business, investment and distribution strategies. He will also take over the running of the firm’s operations from Trevor Castledine who is stepping down from his role of chief operating officer at the end of his contract.

Levy says: “Tim’s appointment is a clear signal of our ambitions to continue to raise the bar and to move the business to the next level. His track record and experience speaks for itself, and we are very pleased that he has decided to come onboard.”

West adds: “I’m excited to be joining FCP at this juncture. The current environment, both political and financial, presents a lot of opportunities for a firm with FCP’s record of innovation, and I think the next few years will see a lot more of the kind of groundbreaking investment opportunities that have become FCP’s trademark. I look forward to adding my skills to the top class team we already have in place, and helping the firm on to greater things in our existing and new markets.”
