Apollo strengthens UK DC push with senior hire

Apollo Global Management has appointed Jesal Mistry as managing director and UK defined contribution (DC) lead, stepping up its expansion into the UK pension market amid rising pension allocations to private credit and other private assets, according to a report by Alternative Credit Investor.

Mistry will be responsible for driving the growth of Apollo’s DC business in the UK and Europe, broadening access to the firm’s investment capabilities and product suite for trustees, consultants and platform providers. He joins from Legal & General, where he was head of DC investment and played a key role in launching the group’s private markets offering.

Based in London, Mistry will sit within Apollo’s New Markets business, co-led by partners Neil Mehta and Jon Godsall. The division focuses on growth across traditional asset management, defined contribution, tax-advantaged strategies and digital platforms.
