Ares Management Corp’s secondaries business is leading a syndicate providing capital to Finint Infrastrutture for its acquisition of the owner of Venice’s Marco Polo Airport, according to a report by Bloomberg citing people familiar with the matter.
Finint Infrastrutture and Ardian agreed to acquire airport operator Milione SpA, which also owns Treviso Antonio Canova Airport, in a €1.2bn deal that has received regulatory approval and is expected to complete in the coming months. Ardian’s infrastructure arm has committed €600m of equity to the transaction.
Ares’ secondaries unit is committing at least €100m as lead investor in a syndicate being assembled by Finint for its share of the acquisition. Ardian holds stakes in several European airports, including Heathrow in London, while Finint, backed by Finanziaria Internazionale Holding SpA, was established in 2023 to invest in airport and aviation infrastructure.
