Carey Olsen advises Caparo Energy on AIM listing

The corporate team at Carey Olsen has advised Caparo Energy on its listing on AIM, the London Stock Exchange’s alternative investment market.

This is the second Indian wind farm company taken to AIM by Carey Olsen in the past year.

Caparo Energy is an independent power producer in India focusing on the establishment of wind farms with an intention to acquire a portfolio of wind farms with a target total annual installed capacity of up to 5,000 MW by 2017.

Carey Olsen advised on Guernsey legal and regulatory aspects of the establishment of the Guernsey holding company and its subsequent admission to AIM. The Carey Olsen team was lead by partner Tom Carey with senior associate Tony Lane and associate Oliver Quarmby. Mayer Brown acted for the company on UK aspects of the listing.

Carey says: “We are seeing a marked increase in IPO work from businesses based in India want to list holding companies on AIM or the main list in order to access the international capital markets. It is fantastic that they see Guernsey as the conduit through which they can achieve this and we hope to see more in the future.”
