Cinven acquires majority stake in Objectway

International private equity firm Cinven has entered into an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Objectway, a leading provider of end-to-end digital software solutions for wealth managers, banks, and asset managers globally.

The transaction sees Objectway Founder and CEO Luigi Marciano remaining a significant shareholder, continuing in his role as CEO and Chair, alongside the company’s existing management team. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Milan, Objectway serves more than 250 financial institutions across 16+ countries, delivering mission-critical, modular front-to-back office software via a scalable, cloud-native platform. The company operates offices across Europe and North America, combining deep domain expertise with innovative technology solutions.

Cinven’s investment will support Objectway’s next phase of growth, including ongoing technology innovation, organic expansion, and targeted M&A activity to broaden its footprint and enhance its value proposition to clients.

The deal represents the first investment from Cinven’s new mid-market strategy, which targets high-growth, founder-led businesses across core sectors, including technology, financial services, and business services.

Cinven identified Objectway as a compelling investment opportunity based on several key attributes, including: strong market positioning, differentiated SaaS offering, a business model with recurring revenues and strong cash generation, significant growth potential, and experienced founder-led leadership.

Advisors on the transaction included Houlihan Lokey (financial advisor) and Deloitte (strategic, financial, commercial, and technical due diligence) for Objectway, alongside Giovannelli Associati (legal) and Russo De Rosa Associati (tax).

Cinven was advised by Jefferies (M&A), Freshfields (legal), PwC (financial), AlixPartners (technology and operations), Oliver Wyman (commercial), and Deloitte (tax and structuring).

Completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
