Leading global investment firm KKR is to take a larger stake in Cherwell Software through its Next Generation Technology Fund, which focuses on investments in software, security, Internet, digital media, and information services. The Duncan & Todd Group, a Scottish optical provider, has acquired Peebles-based Dempster Opticians as part of its national rollout of optician and hearing care services. The deal, which follows a GBP15 million investment from private equity firm LDC at the end of March 2018, will strengthen Duncan & Todd’s presence in the Central Belt. Zilingo has raised USD54 million in a Series C funding round taking total funding raised by the company to USD82 million. The round was led by Sofina, Burda Principal Investments and Sequoia Capital India. Amadeus Capital too joins as a new investor. All existing investors participated in the round including American billionaire Tim Draper, SIG, Venturra, Beenext, Manik Arora along with others. Funds advised by Triton have successfully completed the acquisition of Chevron Traffic Management (Chevron TM), a UK-based Work Zone Safety Services provider. The company has been acquired from Portchester Equity Limited, a UK private equity firm for an undisclosed sum. Palm Beach Capital Fund IV, through one of its investment entities, has invested in Mears Transportation (Mears). Oak North-backed Inception Group is to embark on its biggest expansion to date, doubling the size of its ‘Around The World in 80 Days’-inspired Mr Fogg’s Collection of bars, with the opening of three more premises. Lincolnshire Management has sold Amports, a leading North American port terminal operator, to a group of investors led by InstarAGF Asset Management. Amports controls portside acreage at many of the top roll-on, roll-off ports across the United States and Mexico, including in the San Francisco Bay Area, Baltimore, Jacksonville and Altamira, Mexico. Following an approval by regulatory authorities, ARX Equity Partners (ARX) has exited its investment in Czech producer of specialised electrical motors VUES Brno (VUES) via a EUR53 million sale to Moog Inc.
