The Finance Durham fund managed by Maven Capital Partners has completed its first deal, investing GBP250,000 in the region’s largest small-batch craft distillery, Durham Gin.
Founded in 2014 by former NHS chief Jon Chadwick, Durham Gin is a small-batch craft distillery that creates spirits using a 400 litre copper pot. The company, which is now one of the region’s leading craft distillers, produces gin, vodka and gin-based liqueurs sold under the Durham Gin and Durham Vodka brands.
While the exact recipe remains a closely guarded secret, Durham Gin contains fresh water from a natural spring in County Durham and
MRI Software, a specialist in real estate software solutions, has acquired Real Asset Management (RAM), a supplier of asset management software, including asset and lease accounting, tracking, and maintenance management.
Asset intensive businesses rely on RAM’s solutions to automate traditionally manual and error-prone processes and ensure compliance with accounting, tax, and financial reporting requirements. Additionally, RAM’s mobile and desktop facilities management solutions enable organisations to streamline processes, improve productivity, and reduce property management costs.

Threat Stack, provider of an intrusion detection platform for cloud, hybrid-cloud, and on-premise environments, has raised USD45 million in a Series C funding round led by F-Prime Capital Partners, the venture capital group associated with the parent company of Fidelity Investments, and Eight Roads Ventures, with participation from existing investors Scale Venture Partners, .406 Ventures, and Accomplice.
As part of the funding, which brings the total investment in Threat Stack to more than USD70 million, Gaurav Tuli of F-Prime will join Threat Stack’s Board of Directors and Davor Hebel of Eight Roads Ventures will be an observer.

Eto served as co-founder and CTO of Mixi from 2004 to 2007. Mixi began as Japan’s first social network, a predecessor to Facebook likened to a localised version of MySpace, before pivoting to mobile gaming. The company went public on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2006.

FFL, a private equity firm focused on growth investments in middle market companies, has completed an investment in Bacharach Holding Corp, a manufacturer of refrigerant gas leak detection and monitoring instruments and combustion and emissions analysers.
Terms of the private transaction have not been disclosed.
Bacharach designs and manufactures gas test and measurement (T&M) instrumentation for commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment, and also develops performance management software for its monitoring products. Online discretionary wealth manager Netwealth Investments Limited, has completed a second round of capital subscription, raising and additional GBP10.02 million.
Some 13 new investors joined the 28 angels who provided initial capital of GBP6.57 million pre-launch, resulting in total funds raised to date of GBP16.6 million.
