Osprey Capital’s second investment, following a re-financing of CAERUS Capital, has generated a return of 1.7x capital for investors to date. Osprey retains a diluted minority holding.   The investment in CAERUS Capital Group, a specialist fund management and advice firm for advisers and consumers, was made in 2009. Mid-market M&A firm Cavendish Corporate Finance has advised on the sale of The Communications Agency (TCA) to Communisis, a provider of personalised customer communication services. TCA, which was founded over 25 years ago, is an agency that specialises in brand response and customer relationship marketing. The company’s clients include RBS, American Express, Vue and Argos.   The acquisition offers scope for growth and revenue synergies with the Communisis’ existing client portfolio and the cross-selling of other marketing services in social media, video, digital development and content marketing.   TCA, which is based in London, has 42 employees, all of whom

Private equity firm Palatine has completed the management buyout of Surrey-based seismic consultancy firm The EPI Group. Palatine is backing the incumbent management team, led by CEO Edward Bowen. As part of the deal Ian Langley, who Palatine backed as chairman of Air Energi, will join the board.   This deal is the sixth investment from Fund II, which held its final close in June 2013 at GBP150m.   EPI is a provider of consultancy services to the energy industry, covering a broad range of technical disciplines including specialist knowledge of seismic quality control.  EPI provides consultants whose specialist capabilities, experience and

The founding Appelqvist family remains a significant shareholder. Göran Bille will take over as CEO, in connection with Jörgen Appelqvist's transition into his future role on the board of directors.   Gina Tricot is a Swedish fast fashion retail chain that comprises 180 stores across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Germany. European private equity firm Cinven is to acquire Gas Natural Fenosa Telecomunicaciones (GNFT), the fibre network operator in Spain and Latin America, from Gas Natural Fenosa (GNF) for EUR510 million. GNFT is a neutral telecom operator providing fibre infrastructure and transmission services to telecom operators in Spain and Latin America leveraging the infrastructure of utility networks.   GNFT will continue providing telecommunication services to GNF.    The company has generated strong financial performance with a 13 per cent EBITDA increase CAGR between 2011 and 2013.   The management will be led by Iňigo García del Cerro, who will continue in
Monomoy Capital Partners and Kingsmoor have teamed up to acquire the denim manufacturing operations of Plains Cotton Cooperative Association (PCCA) through American Textile Holdings (AmTex), a newly-created acquisition vehicle. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.   AmTex is a designer and manufacturer of both denim fabric and denim apparel products. The company converts raw cotton into denim fabric at the ACG textile mill located in Littlefield, Texas and converts denim fabric into finished jeans at the Denimatrix cut, sew and laundry operation located in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Big Data Partnership has completed a GBP1.25 million round of series A investment from Beringea, an international growth capital firm that manages the ProVen Venture Capital Trusts. Syntaxis Capital has provided financing in support of the founders’ buyout and strategic development of Expert Petroleum, through its second mezzanine fund. Expert Petroleum, primarily based in Romania, is an oil and gas services business that partners with some of the largest owners and operators in the oil and gas industries through long term contracts in order to increase production on their marginal and mature fields.   Coupled with the founders’ buyout, funds provided by Syntaxis will support the development of the company’s production-enhancement activities across Romania and internationally.   Aleksander Majewski, the Syntaxis director responsible for the investment, says:
