Financial services private equity firm AnaCap Financial Partners has completed the buyout of AssurOne Group, a French digital insurance broker. AssurOne specialises in the online distribution and management of personal insurance products, including motor and home policies.    Under the terms of the agreement, funds advised by AnaCap and AssurOne’s management team will acquire 100 per cent of AssurOne Group from financial investors Seventure Partners and Bpifrance, who have supported the growth of the business since 2006 and 2008 respectively.   Founded in 2004, AssurOne Group initially focused on the direct sale of insurance products as a single carrier supplier.
Ares Management’s private equity group has signed definitive agreements to acquire BBOG II Guarantor from EIG Management Company and Tailwater Capital, on behalf of their respective managed funds. BlackBrush has a history of acquiring and developing oil and gas assets across South Texas, which is one of the most productive oil and gas basins in the US. With new capital provided in conjunction with the transaction, BlackBrush plans to further develop its more than 160,000 net (360,000 gross) acre position.   The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2014 and is subject to customary closing conditions.
8 Miles, a pan-African private equity firm, has purchased a stake in Ugandan agribusiness Biyinzika Poultry International Ltd (BPIL) for an undisclosed consideration. BPIL was established in 1990 and is the Ugandan market leader in the sale of poultry Day-Old Chicks (DOC) and specialised poultry feed, which is produced at its recently constructed feed mill and storage facility in Katega, Uganda.   The company has 21 outlets around Uganda and produces approximately 500,000 DOC per week.   Doug Agble, partner at 8 Miles, says: “The current market is fragmented with a few niche players and the investment from 8 Miles

Evolution1 provides software, payment and mobile solutions that administer and manage consumer directed healthcare accounts. IBS Capital has sold its equity investment in IQuum to Roche.  IBS made its initial capital investment in IQuum in 1999 shortly after the firm was founded and has remained its largest outside investor over the past 15 years.    David Taft, the president of IBS, also served as a director on IQuum's board of directors since 1999.  During this period, IQuum developed groundbreaking technology in molecular diagnostics.    Taft says: "IQuum's Laboratory-in-a-tube (Liat) System will dramatically improve the point of care segment of the diagnostics market and will bring significant benefits to Roche.  In combination with Roche's extensive technological,
Surgery Center Holdings, a portfolio company of HIG Capital, is to acquire 100 per cent of the stock of Symbion Holdings Corporation, a portfolio company of Crestview Partners, for a total purchase price of USD792 million.  The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and required regulatory approvals.   The transaction creates a portfolio of approximately 100 healthcare facilities and complementary ancillary services. Actis has completed a two-part transaction that has seen the firm’s subsidiary, Umeme Holdings Ltd (UHL), sell a total 45.7 per cent of Ugandan electricity distribution company Umeme Ltd for USD98m. The final step in the transaction was the sale of shares totalling 6.7 per cent of the company for USD13m to Ugandan retail investors and Umeme management and directors.   Stanbic acted as lead transaction advisor and Stanbic and Rencap as joint bookrunners.   The retail and management tranche follows the USD85m institutional tranche (39 per cent of the company), which was heavily oversubscribed by more than 20 institutional
Oak Hill Capital Partners is to acquire managed, hosted data centre and IT infrastructure services provider Pulsant from Bridgepoint Development Capital (BDC). Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.   The transaction is unconditional and is expected to complete in the coming weeks.   Pulsant was formed in October 2010 when BDC acquired Lumison, a provider of connectivity, hosting and managed IT services. Hill-Rom Holdings is to purchase TRUMPF Medical, the medical unit of the privately held TRUMPF Group, for approximately USD250 million in cash.   The transaction is expected to close late in the company's fiscal fourth quarter and will be immediately accretive to adjusted earnings per share.   TRUMPF Medical, based in Germany, provides a portfolio of well-established operating room (OR) infrastructure products such as surgical tables, surgical lighting, and supply units.  Hill-Rom's surgical portfolio already includes leading products for surgical safety and efficiency such as Bard-Parker scalpels, the Allen Advance Spine Table, patient positioning accessories, surgical supplies and surgical fluids
