First Data Holdings, the direct parent company of First Data Corporation, has secured commitments to purchase approximately USD3.5 billion of its common equity in a private placement.
The net proceeds from the private placement will be used to strengthen the company's balance sheet through repaying portions of its debt, allowing the company to focus additional capital on accelerating its transformation to a solutions and innovation company that helps First Data clients grow their businesses.

Livingstone’s industrial sector team has advised the shareholders of St Neots Packaging, including investor Endless LLP, on the sale of the business to flexible and rigid plastic packaging manufacturer Coveris.
St Neots, which operates out of two facilities in Cambridgeshire, UK, is a design-led manufacturer of carton board packaging solutions for the food service and food retail markets.
The company also provides its customers with low-cost sourcing through its Hong Kong procurement operation and film-licensing-led children's meal and cinema snack boxes.

Performance measurement firm Silent Edge has received a GBP2.2 million injection from investment firm Rockpool Investments.
The deal will bring Silent Edge's skills assessment software to a range of new industries, enabling businesses to join the current era of data-driven talent management.
Rockpool has provided GBP1.8 million equity in the form of EIS-qualifying shares together with a venture loan, and taken a significant minority ownership position in Silent Edge.
Silent Edge is Rockpool's seventh investment of 2014 and follows deals with Growth Power, Macro Assembly, Clarity Diamonds and Rockpool's third crematorium, South Leicester Memorial. So far this year Rockpool has invested a total of GBP24.2
ClearCare, a software platform for home care agencies, has secured a USD11 million investment led by venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP).
Cambia Health Solutions also participated in the round, and was joined by existing investors Voyager Capital, Qualcomm Ventures, Harbor Pacific Capital, and City National Bank.
The investment will accelerate ClearCare's product development efforts.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
GHD, headquartered in Ahrensburg near Hamburg, is the market leader for homecare services in Germany, providing medical products and services to more than 140,000 patients.

Legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright has advised financial service private equity firm AnaCap Financial Partners on its buyout of AssurOne Group, a French digital insurance broker.
Under the terms of the deal, funds advised by AnaCap and AssurOne’s management team have acquired 100 per cent of AssurOne Group from financial investors Seventure Partners and Bpifrance, who have supported the growth of the business since 2006 and 2008 respectively.

Clearlake Capital Group has completed the acquisition of ConvergeOne, a provider of communications solutions and managed services.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
ConvergeOne offers one source for multivendor solutions – from initial design and implementation through ongoing consulting, technical support, and managed services across the spectrum of IT, contact centre solutions, and unified communications.

Prevalent has received a USD4 million growth equity investment from Fulcrum Equity Partners, a private equity firm headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
The investment funds will be used to grow and expand Prevalent’s sales, marketing and technical teams, as well as advance its third-party risk and vendor threat management technologies.

An affiliate of private equity firm HIG Capital has sold its portfolio company Vaupell Holdings to Sumitomo Bakelite for USD265 million.
Headquartered in Seattle, Vaupell develops and produces thermoplastic and composite solutions to the aerospace industry as well as niche commercial and medical applications.
