Grupa o2 and private equity fund Innova Capital have completed the acquisition of Wirtualna Polska.
The combined companies will operate on the market under the name Grupa Wirtualna Polska.
The management board of the new company is led by Jacek Świderski, while Łukasz Wejchert will support its development holding a seat on the supervisory board.

M&A activity for the global chemical industry will likely increase on 2014 due to downstream value-added opportunities, continued strength in specialty chemicals, and portfolio realignments in North America.
That is according to the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) 2014 Global chemical industry mergers and acquisitions outlook, which also projects M&A growth in 2014 as companies focus on key ends markets including agrochemicals, bio-based/green chemicals, and health and nutrition.

Elbrus Capital, a private equity business in Russia and the CIS, has held the final closing of Elbrus Capital Fund II with capital commitments of USD550m.
The fund was oversubscribed, exceeding its target of USD500m and reaching its hard cap.
Additionally, the fund secured USD150m financing from the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), which will bring the total available capital for fund investments to USD700m upon finalisation of legal documentation later this year.

CVC Capital Partners has competed its acquisition of a controlling stake in Skrill Group from a consortium of investors led by Investcorp, which remains a shareholder.

Private equity firm PNC Riverarch Capital has acquired a controlling interest in Women’s Marketing Inc (WMI), a media strategy, planning and buying organisation focused on targeting female consumers and key retailers.
Founded in 1982, WMI serves over 250 customers in a wide range of end markets, including health, beauty, fashion, footwear and accessories, cosmetics and food and beverage.
The company’s planning and media buying services span the spectrum of media channels, including print magazines, digital, mobile, social media, out of home and broadcast. The company is headquartered in Westport, Connecticut, with an additional office in New York.

Brokers are optimistic about merger and acquisition activity in 2014 with 87 per cent projecting an increase in completed deals and the majority of advisors anticipating that overall deal volume will increase.
That is according to the Fourth Quarter 2013 Market Pulse Quarterly Survey Report published by the Pepperdine Private Capital Market Project, International Business Broker Association (IBBA) and M&A Source.

Following a disappointing year in 2013 there are increasing signs that the German private equity market could see a significant upturn in the months ahead.
Relevant indicators include good business prospects, moderate company valuations and a significant improvement in the options for using capital leverage.
Those are the key findings of the latest private equity panel survey, which is conducted three times a year by CMS Hasche Sigle and FINANCE magazine. Some 40 private equity (PE) firms provide anonymous assessments of the market for the survey.

National private equity firm Lariat Partners has formed Ecoserv, an integrated environmental cleaning and waste disposal provider, by merging Newpark Environmental Services with Offshore Cleaning Systems (OCS).
