AlienVault, creator of OSSIM, the de-facto standard open source SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solution, has closed an USD8 million Series B financing led by new investor Trident Capital with participation from existing investors Adara Venture Partners and Neotec. The company has named Trident managing director J Alberto Yepez Chairman of the Board. Trident principal Michael Biggee also joins the AlienVault Board of Directors. The Aureos South Asia Fund (ASAF) has completed a USD7million investment in Sai Security Printers Private Limited (Sai), a paper packaging company based in Faridabad and Bangalore, India. ASAF is managed by Aureos South Asia Managers Ltd, a subsidiary of Aureos Capital Limited, a private equity fund management company specialising in investing in small and medium sized businesses in emerging markets.   Sai started out as a security printing business and transformed itself into a multi-product packaging company, manufacturing labels and mono-cartons for food and beverage, pharmaceutical and FMCG industries. Independent Swiss private equity company, Constellation has selected Ipes as the administrator for its Constellation III German Asset Light Fund. The fund, which will focus on investing in growth companies in the service sector in German speaking Europe, reached its successful final closing in early December 2011. Ipes Luxembourg will provide a complete range of services for the fund, including domiciliation, central administration, registrar and transfer agency services and the provision of directors. Physio-Control, a provider of emergency medical response technology for use in the intervention and treatment of cardio-respiratory sudden cardiac arrest and other medical emergencies, has completed the sale of the company to an affiliate of private investment firm Bain Capital.  The transaction, which was announced on 17 November, 2011, was valued at approximately USD487 million. Simultaneous with the closing, Brian Webster, formerly President, has been named Chief Executive Officer of the newly-independent company.   Headquartered in Redmond, Washington, Physio-Control is the global leader in professional emergency response products and services. Alternative asset manager, Duet Group has made a significant investment into Dashen Brewery Plc. The investment will take the form of an equity injection from the newly formed Duet Beverages Africa Ltd, which will be managed by the Duet Africa Private Equity team, together with Vasari as the industrial partner. Proceeds of the investment will be used to expand the Company’s capacity and enhance distribution channels. Jazz FM, Neopolitan Music and The Ingenious Entertainment VCTs has completed a GBP2 million investment into the UK’s first three day, outdoor, camping jazz festival, Love Supreme Jazz Festival, to take place in Brighton in the summer of 2013.
