Swedish private equity firm EQT Partners is looking to finalise a deal to VerPartners, one of Australia’s largest veterinary practice chains in a deal worth in excess of AUD1bn, according to a report by the Financial Review.

Carlyle Group is looking to secure debt funding of at least $2.5bn to support its potential acquisition of stakes in some of medical device maker Medtronic’s business units, according to a report by Bloomberg.
UK M&A activity is set to improve over the next 12 months, according to 78% of the dealmakers who took part in CIL’s Investment 360 Index survey- with 85% saying that current deal activity is low, compared to 35% at the same time last year.
