Payments processing start-up Stripe has secured new funding of $6.5 billion in one of the largest private stock sales in US history, but at about half of its valuation from two years ago, according to a report by the Financial Times.
US private equity firm Providence Equity Partners is acquire UK exhibitions and events group Hyve in a deal that values the business at £481 million, according to reports. Providence has agreed to pay 108 per share after Hyve reportedly rejected offers of 101p and 105p from another unnamed bidder. Hyve’s shares traded at as much as 610p just over a year ago, before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and Hyve’s decision to dispose of its Russian business triggered an 85% drop in value. The company’s stock was trading at 77p before it announced the two rejected offers.
Alternative investment firm PAG is interested in acquiring Hong Kong telecommunications group HKBN setting up a potential $1 billion-plus bidding war with rival private equity firm I Squared Capital, according to a report by Bloomberg. Unnamed Bloomberg sources say that PAG is currently carrying out preliminary work on a potential bid including examining sources of financing and the possibility of teaming with the broadband provider’s current senior management team. AnaCap Financial Partners, a private equity firm focused on investments in across software, technology and services in the financial services sector, is to sell of Oona Health, a Danish private health services and insurance provider, to Topdanmark. 


Trinity Hunt Partners, a growth-oriented private equity firm focused on services businesses, has made a majority investment in Supreme Optimization, a digital marketing agency catering exclusively to companies operating in the life sciences sector.
Apollo Global Management is to acquire Univar Solutions, a specialist chemical maker and distributor, in an all-cash transaction valued at around $8.1 billion including debt. The deal includes a minority investment from a wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). Under the terms of the transaction, Univar Solutions shareholders will receive $36.15 per share in cash, which represents a 20.6% premium to the company’s closing stock price on 22 November, 2022. The transaction consideration also represents a premium of 33.6% to the volume-weighted average price of Univar Solutions for the 30 trading days ending on 22 November,
An affiliate of private equity funds managed by Blackstone is to acquire Cvent Holding Corp, a meetings, events and hospitality technology provider, in a transaction with an enterprise value of approximately $4.6 billion, a little over a year after the business listed for a second time via a special purchase acquisition company deal.
Private investment firm Sun Capital Partners has added to its growing business services portfolio with a majority investment in Anderson Business Advisors. Management and employees of the company reinvested proceeds from the sale to retain a significant minority stake.

Venture capital firms are said to be working on a “long-shot plan” to preserve parts of Silicon Valley Bank’s US operations in a move to keep servicing their clients in the technology sector, according to a report in the Financial Times, citing people briefed on the effort.
