KKR & Co is in an early stage of discussions with potential advisers for a proposed sale of its stake in Avendus Capital Ltd which values the financial services provider at more than $500 million, according to a report by Bloomberg. The report cites unnamed sources as confirming that the private equity giant is close to appointing two lenders to manage the sales process, with other Avendus investors reportedly considering joining KKR’s proposed deal and taking the stake for the sale to about 80%. Beringer Capital, a private equity firm focussed on the information, marketing and technology sectors, has acquired a majority stake in Toronto-based technology insight company Dig Insights. The acquisition is Beringer’s fourth since the closing of a funding round last year following deals to acquire performance marketing company Performcb, real estate business Inman Group and finance firm Benzinga. DIG Insights, which was founded in 2010 and employs around 200 people in Toronto Vancouver, Chicago and the UK, offers a range of consumer insights and market research consulting tools and services including an AI-based research platform, ‘Upsiide’, which launched in 2020.
Barings has acted as sole lead lender of secured credit facilities in Thoma Bravo’s investment in Mercell Holding AS, a European provider of e-tendering and procurement systems. Mercell, founded in 1999 and headquartered in Oslo, Norway, is the European market’s leading e-tendering software for public buyers and tender notification software for public sector suppliers. Mercell’s solutions help buyers and organisations cut costs, grow their businesses and boost efficiency. HarbourView Equity Partners (HarbourView), a global alternative asset management company founded by Sherrese Clarke Soares, has acquired Big Loud Mountain Music’s publisher share of select songs from country music duo Florida Georgia Line’s catalogue.  Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Big Loud Mountain Music, an independent publishing, management, and production company located in Nashville is credited as a key player in helping to successfully launch Florida Georgia Line’s career. Jeito Capital (Jeito), an independent Private Equity firm dedicated to biotech and biopharma, has co-led a Series B financing round in SparingVision, a privately held French biotech company.  As a spin-off of the Paris Vision Institute and the result of more than 20 years of scientific research, SparingVision develops genetic innovative therapies in ophthalmology for the treatment of blinding inherited retinal diseases. CES Power, a global provider of mobile power generation, distribution and temperature control equipment backed by industrial-focused private equity firm Allied Industrial Partners (AIP), has acquired Brickworks. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Brickworks is a provider of smart mapping software, Geographic Information System (GIS) services and zero-emissions infrastructure to the entertainment industry.    Founded in 2017 by Sam Simmons and Peter Winer, Brickworks has developed site plans and design services for over 150 music festivals, live events, and related projects. Brickworks’ proprietary software turns CAD site plans into online and interactive smart maps, enabling telemetry and real-time location
Sphera, a global provider of ESG performance and risk management software, data and consulting services, and a portfolio company of Blackstone, is to acquire riskmethods, a Munich, Germany-based, software company specialising in supply chain risk management (SCRM).
