OMERS Private Equity, the private equity arm of OMERS, a pension plan for municipal employees in Ontario, has acquired a minority stake in NovaSource Power Services (NovaSource) for $100 million. NovaSource is a specialist in solar operations and maintenance (O&M) services to utility, commercial, industrial, and residential customers, with over 20GW of solar assets under management. NovaSource operates a global footprint with a presence in North America, South America, EMEA, Asia, and Australia. It is the largest independent Solar O&M provider in the United States and globally. Jacmel Growth Partners (Jacmel), a minority-owned, private investment firm focused on working with family-owned businesses, has partnered with Arora Engineers (Arora) as well as its subsidiary companies, EDI and Arora Systems Group, providers of infrastructure focused planning, design, program/construction management, facilities management, asset management and technology services.  Strategic capital from Jacmel will support Arora’s leadership team as they continue executing on their long-term growth initiatives. Arora, one of the largest minority-owned infrastructure services firms in North America, will continue to be managed by current President and CEO Manik Arora, PE, and maintain its minority-owned business status.   Arora is a
US LBM, a portfolio company of Bain Capital Private Equity, and a distributor of specialty building materials in the United States, has acquired Deco Truss, a manufacturer and supplier of structural roof and floor trusses to customers in South Florida and the Caribbean. 
Actis, a global investor in sustainable infrastructure, is to acquire a majority stake in Levanta Renewables (Levanta), a Vietnam and Southeast Asia-focused renewables platform. Founded by Sudhir Nunes, who has significant experience in executing renewable power projects, Levanta has 300MW of onshore wind power projects in advanced development. With Vietnam as the anchor market, Actis will build on Levanta’s pipeline and apply its proven buy-and-build strategy to scale the business into a 1.5GW renewable platform across Southeast Asia, delivering power to a range of offtakers, including C&I customers.   The acquisition, Actis’ first Energy Infrastructure investment in Vietnam, will support
Partners Group is expanding the shareholder base of United States Infrastructure Corporation (USIC), a North American provider of utility location services with Kohlberg & Company (Kohlberg) acquiring a 50% stake in then business. Partners Group will retain a 50% co-lead interest. 
Lower mid-market private equity firm NorthEdge has supported quality assurance and testing firm Testronic, part of the Catalis Group, to complete two new acquisitions. Testronic has acquired Check Disc Labs (CDL) and Giant Interactive, representing the third and fourth acquisitions for Catalis Group since NorthEdge’s investment into the firm in 2020.   The two deals follow a series of other bolt-on acquisitions in NorthEdge’s technology portfolio over the last 12 months.  CDL, a quality assurance provider for physical and digital media content, and Giant Interactive, a provider of award-winning entertainment and content delivery services, will join the Testronic family, adding 120 highly
GI Partners, a private alternatives investment firm, has acquired five ‘always on’ properties representing 860,000 square feet, on behalf of its Essential Tech + Science Fund (ETF Fund). The properties, all of which are located in high density Northern Virginia markets, are leased to many of the largest defence and government contracting companies in the US.   GI Partners has historically acquired similar ‘always on’ assets—those that house mission critical technology operations and non-biological R&D — in its core real estate funds. Funds managed by Carlyle’s Global Infrastructure platform have committed up to $1 billion to partner with Tillman Global Holdings to accelerate investments in Tillman Infrastructure, a privately held cell tower platform in the United States. Since its founding in 2016, Tillman Infrastructure has become one of the largest providers of build-to-suit tower assets in the country and these funds will seek to further support that growth trajectory.
