Decarbonization Partners has invested in biomaterials company MycoWorks as part of a $125 million Series C financing round.
The round was led by Prime Movers Lab, with participation from other new and existing investors, SK Networks, Mirabaud Lifestyle Impact & Innovation Fund, DCVC Bio and Novo Holdings.
Founded in 2013 MycoWorks is recognised globally as having unlocked a breakthrough in material science. The company’s patented Fine Mycelium process harnesses mycelium – the thread-like network that mushrooms fruit from – to produce a natural material with the performance of the finest animal leathers. Baseload Capital’s subsidiary, Baseload Power Japan, has completed a third geothermal power plant.
Developed in partnership with Furusato Power generation and the Sansui hot spring inn, Sansui Geothermal Power Plant will produce 350 MWh annually, equivalent to the annual power consumption of roughly 100 households.
The electricity generated by the new plant will be sold to Kyushu Electric Power through a feed-in tariff (FIT) mechanism. The surplus of hot water will be provided to the Sansui hot spring inn to be used as bathing water for its hot spring operations.
Ares Capital Management, a subsidiary of global alternative investment manager Ares Management Corporation, is to acquire, on behalf of funds managed by the Ares Credit Group, the middle market lending portfolio from Annaly Capital Management for approximately $2.4 billion.
Ares’ Credit Group believes that it is familiar with a significant number of the investments in the portfolio either through overlapping portfolio companies or through the historical review of these companies. In addition, there is substantial overlap with the financial sponsors backing the portfolio as well as opportunities to strengthen ties with sponsors new to Ares.

This fundraising represents the largest Greentech/Climatech seed round in Europe.

Fjord1 AS (Fjord1), one of the largest ferry and high-speed passenger boat operators in Norway and a portfolio company of private equity firm Vision Ridge partners, has completed a NOK 6.5 billion debt refinancing.
Proceeds will be used to repay the company’s existing loan facilities including the outstanding bond (ticker FJORD01 and ISIN NO0010810302) and all additional outstanding interest and principal through the maturity date of 22 November, 2022. In connection with the completion of the refinancing, Fjord1 expects to launch a buyback offer to its existing bondholders.
Global investment manager Igneo Infrastructure Partners (Igneo), has reached an agreement to acquire a 100% interest in Elliott Green Power Australia (EGP) via its Australian renewables business, Atmos Renewables.
The EGP portfolio consists of the Childers, Susan River and Nevertire solar farms with a combined capacity of 302 MW, generating approximately 500GWh of energy annually and powering over 100,000 homes. Each solar farm includes well-advanced co-located battery developments totalling 125 MW / 250 MWhs. Construction of the battery projects is expected to commence in 2022.

Moonhub has raised $2.6m in seed funding led by global proptech VC Pi Labs with participation from Ada Ventures, 1818 Venture Capital and numerous angel investor.

Fenergo, a provider of digital solutions for Know your Customer (KYC) and client lifecycle management (CLM), has acquired Sentinels, an anti-money laundering (AML) transaction monitoring new market entrant with artificial intelligence (AI) based technology.
The acquisition, for an undisclosed amount, strengthens Fenergo’s ability to deliver end-to-end Software as a Service (SaaS) based-CLM with smart transaction monitoring to financial institutions. The deal comes as the industry continues to be challenged by rising financial crime, evolving regulations, operational inefficiencies, and pressure to deliver a better customer experience.
