SWAN a s, an alternative telecommunications operator on the Slovak market, is changing its ownership structure. Slovak private equity fund, managed by Sandberg Capital, has agreed with DanubiaTel to divest its 50 per cent stake in their joint venture. The stake in SWAN will be taken over by SWAN’s sister company SWAN Mobile, a s, a member of the DanubiaTel group. 
A landscaping business which maintains sites nationwide for leading supermarkets and utilities companies has secured a significant investment from Mercia’s private equity funds. UK Landscapes, a family business which founded in 1997, now employs over 175 staff at its headquarters in Middlewich, Cheshire and regional depots throughout the UK including Leeds, Glasgow, Cardiff, Reading and Harlow. The company serves blue-chip customers such as Asda, John Lewis, Waitrose, Shell, and Santander. Browne Jacobson’s private equity team has advised independent private equity and infrastructure investment manager Foresight Group (Foresight) on its exit from e-commerce fulfilment specialist, Selazar Limited (Selazar), generating a 3.4x return for the Midland Engine Investment Fund (MEIF) managed by Foresight after less than two years. The Browne Jacobson team was led by Midlands-based associate Matt Bolton, who also advised Foresight on MEIF’s initial and follow-on investments in Selazar in 2019 and 2020 (respectively), supported by Birmingham-based private equity partner, Gareth Davies.  The exit is the first for MEIF, which was launched by the UK Government-owned British Business Bank (BBB)
Aura Biosciences, a portfolio company of Spanish biotechnology venture capital firm Ysios Capital, has priced its initial public offering (IPO) and is trading on the Nasdaq Global Market (NASDAQ: AURA). 
Global investment firm Carlyle has acquired a majority stake in CSS AG (CSS), a German business software provider with a focus on accounting, controlling and human resources (HR) software. Majority shareholder Michael Friemel will retain a large minority stake in CSS and will continue to lead the company as CEO. Founded in 1984, CSS is headquartered in Künzell, Germany, and serves and supports its customers from eight additional regional offices. BC Partners is to acquire a controlling stake in Pet City, pet retailer in Greece. Specific terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.  The deal represents the first investment of BC Partners GR Investment LP (BCPGR), a special purpose fund which seeks to invest in and support high-growth small and medium-sized companies in Greece.
