Nippon Koei Co Limited, via its 100 per cent owned subsidiary Nippon Koei Energy Europe BV, and Aquila Capital, a sustainable investment management and asset development company, headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, hvea 25MW/100MWh grid-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) located in Ruien, Belgium. Nippon Koei Co Limited, lead developer of the project, and Aquila Capital have reached an agreement to jointly finance the procurement, final development and operation of the BESS, which is one of the first projects of this type in Europe that meets all the relevant ESG standards and has a strong focus on sustainable construction and operation.
Trading Technologies International, (TT), a global provider of high-performance professional trading software, infrastructure and data solutions, is to be acquired by 7RIDGE, a specialised growth equity firm invested in transformative technologies. 7RIDGE will fuel Trading Technologies’ organic growth and enable the firm to make targeted strategic acquisitions in the future. Cboe Global Markets, Inc (Cboe: CBOE) and Singapore Exchange (SGX), who are among the limited partners of the fund managed by 7RIDGE, have voiced their support of the transaction. iCON Infrastructure Partners V1 (iCON V), a fund advised by iCON Infrastructure (iCON), has completed the acquisition of a controlling interest in three German fibre-related businesses, ropa, NGN Telecom, and Wisotel (together the SFN Group). The sale was carried out by companies led by LABcom Investment. The SFN Group is an independent vertically integrated fiber and cable telecoms business based in Germany. The business primarily serves the retail market with a current focus in the regions of Baden Wuerttemberg and Lower Saxony. The group’s networks serve approximately 16,000 customers. BayPine is to acquire Pinnacle Dermatology Management (Pinnacle), a female-founded dermatology management services organisation in the United States.  Pinnacle’s management team, led by Chief Executive Officer Chad A Eckes, Chief Medical Officer and President Dr Jose Rios, and its founder, Dr Paula Lapinski, are partnering with BayPine in the transaction and will continue in their current roles. Chicago Pacific Founders (CPF), the Company’s current financial sponsor, will roll a portion of its ownership in Pinnacle post-closing. RoadSafe Traffic Systems (RoadSafe), a US provider of traffic control and pavement marking services, has acquired Barricade Services & Sales (BSSI), a supplier of traffic control products and services in the Salt Lake City market. The acquisition of BSSI further establishes RoadSafe’s position in the Mountain West region and expansion into the Utah market, one of the fastest-growing markets for traffic management in the US. Filipino social entertainment platform Kumu has raised a Series C led by General Atlantic, a global growth equity firm with more than 40 years of experience scaling disruptive businesses internationally. Existing investors Openspace and SIG also participated.  This transaction marks the largest equity financing to date for a Filipino startup not founded as a subsidiary or spinoff of an established conglomerate and brings total funding to date for the company to USD100 million.
