McLaren Racing announced has received an investment from MSP Sports Capital (MSP), a New York-based privately held investment advisory firm. MSP Sports Capital and its limited partners were joined by The Najafi Companies and UBS O’Connor, which provided co-investment.  The transaction values McLaren Racing at GBP560 million and strengthens the team’s long-term plan for growth and continued success. Recent MSP investments include stakes in Agrupación Deportiva Alcorcon, Waasland Beveren, which plays in the Belgian Jupiter League, a Spanish football team based in Madrid, and Estoril Praia Futebol SAD, a Portuguese sports club based in Lisbon which is currently in first place
Takeovers of AIM companies have made up a far bigger share of all takeovers of London Stock Exchange deals over the last year, jumping to 56 per cent of all M&A deals, from 46 per cent in the previous 12 months, says research from UHY Hacker Young the national accountancy group.Private equity (PE) firms, as bidders in 10 out of the 18 AIM takeovers, have been a big driving force in the AIM M&A deals this year. Private equity firm WestBridge has backed the senior management team at construction software company Eque2 to acquire the business from its existing shareholders.The transaction provides an exit for LDC, which backed a GBP16 million secondary buyout with a minority investment in November 2017, and the current institutional shareholders. Funds managed by WestBridge have invested cGBP29m for a 75 per cent stake in the business. The buyout was led by Justin Moule (CEO) and Peter Davidson (COO), supported by Andy Bones (finance director), Richard Boston (marketing director) and Dominic Imrie (development director), who have led the business for many years.  Eque2

Eurazeo has invested EUR33 million in Tink, Europe’s leading open banking platform. Alternative asset management firm Carlson Capital has reached a strategic agreement with Jefferies Group (Jefferies) and structured credit investor Hildene Capital Management (Hildene) to support the new issuance of CLOs on Carlson’s Cathedral Lake platform.Under the terms of the agreement, Jefferies and Hildene will provide CLO equity capital to support the new issuance of four Carlson CLOs within the next three years. Thompson Street Capital Partners’ (TSCP) portfolio company Marmic Fire & Safety Co (Marmic) has acquired Chicago, Illinois-based Total Fire & Safety, LLC (TFS), a provider of fire and life safety systems, equipment and related services.
