Elite German football body Deutsche Fussball is again exploring the possible involvement of private equity investors in media rights, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The move comes just over a year after similar plans were dropped.
The report says that a working party comprising Deutsche Fussball Liga’s Chief Executive Officer Donata Hopfen and senior figures from clubs including FC Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt is looking at whether the Budesliga would benefit from external PE investment.
